Spirit In Action
Each week, Spirit In Action brings you stories of people living lives of fruitful service, of peace, community, compassion, creative action and progressive efforts. We'll trace the spiritual roots that support and nourish them in their service. Above all, we'll seek out Light, Love and Helping Hands, being shared between our many neighbors on this planet, hoping to inspire and encourage you to sink deep roots and produce sacred fruit in your own life.

Spirit In Action is an hour of interviews with those providing leadership in peace, justice and "good works", interspersed with relevant music.

The theme music is "The Turning of the World" performed by Sara Thomsen (written by Ruth Pellham) and "I Have No Hands But Yours" by Carol Johnson

Marriage Equality in Minnesota - Listening for Victory! (9/9/2012)

Description Comments
Minnesotans United for All Families is trying something new in their struggle for marriage equality - listening & telling personal stories - and it's working like nothing before has ever worked. Liz Oppenheimer & Jeanne Burns share their experience with "conversations" and Grant Stevensen, director of the Faith Dept. of Minnesotans United for All Families talks about the united effort of many walks of faith in opposing the proposed marriage amendment to the MN constitution.

Great show. I hope to talk to all my friends about talking to any of their friends or family who live in MN and talk to my daughter and son-in-law who live there.

What a tremendous job you did, focusing on the humanity contained within our experience and in our stories. If more of us understood *today,* as Grant testified to, how we unintentionally learned that "such-and-so" isn't our issue, be it the freedom to marry or the right to vote, we would surely be horrified and humbled to learn how our own silence, blindness, ignorance, and inaction are reinforcing disconnection and separation from our brothers and sisters in the Spirit. If we truly are about building Gd's kin(g)dom and living into it Right Here Right Now, we must stay connected with one another, especially when we hear someone cry out, "This hurts me and my family." Keep up this important work: As I once heard from someone, the universe is not made of atoms. It is made of stories. Blessings, Liz
