David Huber's Song of the Soul |
I am amazed at how well...I'm amazed at how well Mark can take 2 or 3 hours of somewhat unfocused rambling and edit it down into something that makes me seem incredibly eloquent and organized of thought. Thanks, Mark! | David Huber (not verified)
| As expected, well thought andAs expected, well thought and inspirational. And very Cyndi, in terms of music. Yay! 1/24/08 | David Huber | ||
| Judith was intelligentlyJudith was intelligently brilliant in her presentation and in her interview with you. I tried to detect something about faith and knowing in the Spirit, and she did mention breath and breathing. And if we manipulate language there it is. But she did have a very upside and "spiritual" impact on others-on me! Speaking of Spirit I hope after 5-6 months you will have Ruah Svennerfeld and Louis Cox on your program to be interviewed by you when they return from their 1400 mile walk from Vancover to San Diego visiting Friends Meetings in the genre of John Woolman. I am "walking" with them through travelpod.com/z/peaceforearth/peace-for-earth/1197176160.Anyone can. In the Light, John Hackman | John Hackman (not verified) | ||
| Mark it was nice to read yourMark it was nice to read your news letter and listen to you and Peter Alsop immediately after vis via the www! As much as technology has divided us I do believe it brings us together spiritually with greater ease and the ability to cut through the chaffe. My five year old child came into the room while peace chickens were a cluckin and let out a burst of laughter at the same time understanding the message! Thank you both for inspiring him. Thank you both for renewing my spirit and hope in mankind that we do indeed some day park the evil tools we do posess and make it a better world for our children to live in. There are to many distractions that can lead us from that path of light and levity. I welcome those gifts along the way that keep us from falling off the edge. Keep your "spirit alive and strong my friend" the world needs you more than ever! -Blessing, Scott Dizack- | Scott Dizack (not verified) | ||
| I have known Ellen for 40I have known Ellen for 40 years. I am the other half of "The Singing Sisters" that she mentioned. I was truly touched, inspired, and overwhelmed by her openness to talk about her spirituality. I too was raised WELS like Ellen, in fact, in the same church and in the same small town, Ripon, WI. I can relate to Ellen's struggle to free herself from the constraints that WELS has put on her life. I have shared many experiences with Ellen in our 40 years but feel that I have really come to know who she is today by listening to her on Song Of The Soul. My struggle has been ongoing due to the fact that I have two children and a husband whom I wanted to at least experience the basis of my belief...that being their is one God and that Jesus Chris IS our Saviour. I do not believe in many other aspects of WELS and that is where my struggle and guilt come from. It is hard to break away from something you lived your whole life believing is right. I admire Ellen, and Bob, for their spirituality and the journey they have taken to reach the point of being content with who they are and what they believe. When I visit them in Eau Claire, I come away feeling at peace...if only for a short time. Ellen, you have given me new inspiration. It is time for me to break away from a religion that does not fit with who I truly am and what I was intended to be. For that, my dear friend, I love you. Thank you for sharing your spirituality with me and the others out there who may be struggling. | Ellie Langenhorst (not verified) | ||
| I learned a lot about Nora II learned a lot about Nora I did not know before. Often while listening to the program I found myself crying, because I too have anger I often don't know what to do with, struggle with my belief/faith in God and the different churches' teachings, was married and am divorced, and am struggling to become a better person. Some days I feel like it's almost too long and too hard of a battle that I don't have the energy to fight and some days I'm much more enthusiastic and willing to do what I have to reach my goal of being a happier, more loving, kind, patient person. Today is a day I'm lonely and depressed (yes, I too have a so-called Mental Illness) and have little motivation to do much and don't feel very optimistic, but I have some hope I didn't have before and know "This Too Shall Pass" and like Nora feel there is some reason I'm where I am now and going through what I'm going through to reach a better place someday. I just wish it didn't take quite so long and was a little easier. I didn't rate this show, because I've never listened to any other ones, but it meant a lot to me personally and has caused me to really think a lot about what was said and the songs' messages. At first I thought I didn't want to take the time to listen to the whole thing, but knew I would talk that long to Nora on the phone or in person, if she was able to, about my difficulties, thoughts, wishes, hopes, dreams and want to know how she "understands" so much of me so well. I really do want to be a better person, but wonder how long it's going to take. The physical energy and endurance is not there today. I don't know what to do or who to call to help me today. | A friend of Nora's (not verified) | ||

I put it on repeat and listened over and over. Thank you for helping to share her spirit with the world. When will this show be broadcasted in the Superior, WI, area and on what radio dial? thank you and blessings to you. | Beth Olson (not verified)

| First, I want to complimentFirst, I want to compliment you on the format of you program, "Song of the Soul." Dividing the time between songs and commentary between you and your guest is both interesting and entertaining. A song may have universal meaning to the listeners, which is why we want to hear it again and again. Knowing the story behind the composing of the lyrics adds new interpretations and appreciation. Getting to meet the songwriter, the producer, the singer, the arranger, and the instrumentalist, as in the case of Carlton Schreiner, is a rare privilege. His CD "Love is the Cure" can be a cure for many ills in this world. For me, the calming influence of his special arrangement of "Amazing Grace" has slowed down the pulse of my rapid and irregular heartbeat. The energizing rhythms of other songs makes me want to sing a long or to dance, while bringing a message of hope, love, joy, and peace.. Thank you for bring this king of programming to the airwaves and the Internet. | Breeze Bryson (not verified) | ||
