logo for Love Makes a Family Bonnie Tinker - Love Makes A Family Mark, thank you for theMark, thank you for the program on Bonnie Tinker. She is a wonderful woman with lots to teach us about how to communicate about lesbian and gay people. I truly admire her work on the radio, talking weekly with right-wing people about her life experience and listening carefully to them about their views and the sources of them. You do a service to the community in bringing such people to our homes and in crafting a lovely hour of music and commentary so that listening appeals to both heart and mind. Thanks again, Virginia Rev. Virginia Wolf (not verified)

photo of David Huber looking thoughtful, tired, or both. David Huber's Song of the Soul Excellent ideaI listened to the Song of the Soul, David Huber's selections. Excellent idea. I've always listened to music as essential to my spiritual journey. His selections by Zappa, Floyd, and Mahler were all particular favorites for me too. I remember listening to Zappa's 'outside now' late at night in a converted shed in the vines of Tuscany. and then wandering out past the little monastery to the cemetary. Floyd's 'pigs' was almost the soundtrack to my retreats in my tent at the foot of the Alps where they plunge into the mediterranean. Again. late at night, sitting on a massive boulder, the Alps behind, the Med below. Kevin Kevin from Madison (not verified)

I appreciate hearing the high-quality sensitive interview which Mark Helpsmeet conducted with her. Mark has a natural radio voice, and his empathy opens up those he interviews. Mark's questions are personal and probing, yet respectful. I look forward to hearing more of his work here in the Northern woods of Wisconsin. Thank you for bringing high quality, diverse programs to us. Jon Shafer (not verified)
logo for National Peace Foundation National Peace Foundation - Sarah Harder & Olga Bessolova Our oranization believesOur oranization believes informed grassroots communities empower change. The diverse messages of Northern Spirit Radio inform and nourish such quests both globally and locally. Today's Democracy Now broadcast from the World AIDS conference in Canada carried voices from Africa and the Caribbean to inform my work in National Peace Foundation's Youth Addiction/HIV project in Russia. Here in Wisconsin's Chippewa Valley, an Israeli/Palestinian Dialogue of Jews, Muslims and Christians has expanded our shared understanding of routes to a just peace and resolution of that root conflict. Your archival record of Sami Rasouli [founder of Muslim Peacemaker Teams-3/19/06-SPIRIT IN ACTION]describes reconstruction work in Fallujah inspired by Christian Peacemaker Teams in Iraq from the U.S. (It echoes our group's email exchange today regretting that Iran rather than the U.S. reaps credit in Lebanon for reconstruction, as if lessons of the U.S. Marshall Plan in Europe have been forgotten.) Thank you for the resources of Northern Spirit Radio that build community by sharing current realities both through our local station and your internet reach around the world.
