Joe ElderWhat a fantastic interview. I loved learning about the history of UW Madison and their LGBT studies! I also didn't know Joe Elder went to Harvard and taught at Oberlin!
Wow and thank you, Daniel! One way I've been taking care of myself is by looking for joyful things to listen to and avoiding direct references to Trump. So I started by listening to the most recent song of the soul interview, then move to the rebroadcast of the interview with Joe Elder. Finally, I decided to take the plunge and listen to this one. And it was joyful! I'm allowed to not be consumed by fear, and there are things I can do, and there are things I can prepare myself for - without being despondent. Imagine that! I will pass this interview around as much as I can.
Mark was a delight to talk…Mark was a delight to talk with, and I appreciate his thoughtful questions and his calming presence. I had a wonderful time on this show, thank you Mark for taking the time to have this depth of conversation with artists!
Thank you!Hi Mark, Thank you so much for inviting me onto Northern Spirit Radio. It was a real treat to chat with you and hard to believe we were talking over a distance of four thousand miles, the conversation flowed so easily. BTW, Song of the Soul is a great concept; I'm not aware of another quite like it. We have the BBC's Desert Island Discs here in the UK but guests choose music by other artistes rather than by themselves. So, long may Song of the Soul continue! With all good wishes, Hilary
Thanks for having me on the program. I was thrilled to be invited to be back on Spirit in Action and enjoyed the conversation immensely. Can't think of a more appropriate platform for the discussion than Northern Spirit Radio, as my novel is northern to its core and celebrates the wonders of the human spirit.
I'm so happy to have made contact with Northern Spirit Radio. It's quite rare to be invited to take part in such an extensive and well researched interview, which I hope will appeal beyond those of us who live on planet mandolin. We went well beyond the allotted time because I actually forgot it was an interview and it turned into a very relaxed chat...! All credit to Mark (the most engaging of hosts!) for that, and for the opportunity to appear.
I don't presume to answer for Alice, but with a tiny bit of research online I found different facts. For example, there are 15 childhood vaccinations, not 50, in the US. The range of required vaccinations in Europe vary by country, so no blanket comparison is valid, but one list I saw makes me think that the number required or mandatory in almost all European countries is similar to what we have in the US. As for health outcomes being different, there are lots of factors, with a likely culprit being the lack of universal healthcare coverage for all citizens in the US, a standard that all other developed nations in the world take for granted.
I prefer to have discussions based on facts and with documentation. Terms like "brain-washed" may or may not be accurate, based on who and what we're talking about, but I would hope for quoting of sources.
Where does Alice Rothchild stand on the egregious process of vaccinations given at birth?
The USA has 50 more vaccinations given to children than Europe and worse health by far than in Europe. When I ask doctors about this they fail to see the connection and blame their patients.
Where does Alice stand on the the brainwashing of the public during COVID and the disaster and criminal use of COVID vaccines?
Mark, it was a warm and scintillating conversation among you, Emma and myself. We discovered a lot— such as our two-and-a-half Catholic childhoods, and the varied routes by which we arrived among Friends thereafter. I hope the podcast and the book can be helpful to listeners of many backgrounds find some sustenance and humor, resources which we’ll all need in the coming years.
And PS. Thanks for collecting and passing along a list of typos we missed in the book’s 550 pages. Nobody’s perfect, but we can fix them in the next printing. Keep up your interviews (and editing!)
